Joe's OK BAYOU aka “da Bayou”
AAAYYYEEEE!!!!
JOE’S OK BAYOU was originally opened in Louisville, KY on February 20th, 1995 right before Mardi Gras that year. Since then, we have doubled the size of the premise and have become the staple of Cajun food in all of Louisville. You can also find “da Bayou” across the river in New Albany, IN (est. 2005) which is about 25 minutes from the original. Along with expansion and making a name for ourselves over the past decade, we have garnered the Reader’s Choice award in the category of “BEST CAJUN” in town as well as top 5 finishes at the Churchill Downs Chili Cook-off!!!
Of course, every year during Mardi Gras, you can expect beads, King Cakes, live music, and HURRICANES making an appearance during the festivities at JOE’S OK BAYOU!!! Although we have a full bar, we are a casual, laid-back establishment suited for kids and adults alike. If you plan on bringing a group, you can call ahead for reservations. Nightly food specials include a different $3.00 off Specialty Dinner each night (gator tail, shrimp, oysters, crab) and Daily Lunch ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT CAJUN (gumbo, jambalaya, etouffee, red beans, etc.) And don’t forget that we have a FULL BAR that includes a nice HAPPY HOUR from 4-6pm Monday-Friday and during televised UK and U of L ballgames!!!
